A sawmill in Alabama was looking to upgraded their profiling heads to Cortex while utilizing their existing segments. Cortex had stock parts which fit on the profilers and provided a conversion to Cortex. The objective was to achieve longer knife life and reduce costs on parts and knives. Knife life went from 2 shifts with the previous system, so over 8 shifts with Cortex. Direct knife and part cost were also reduced by over 25%.
